Inside the Investor Forum: Driving High Quality Engagement to Improve Value Creation

In this episode of Enquire, Clara Melia speaks with Chris Kinder, Chief Executive Officer of the Investor Forum. Drawing on over two decades of experience as a UK-focused equity fund manager across firms like Columbia Threadneedle, Redwheel (formerly RWC), Hoare Govett and PwC, Chris shares unique perspectives from both sides of the investment table. He reflects on his career path from a chartered accountant to managing a broad range of UK equity strategies and leading the Investor Forum.

Chris outlines the origins of the Investor Forum, conceived following the 2012 Kay Review, and explains its core mission to support long-term stewardship, hold boards accountable, and improve the competitiveness of the UK equity capital market. He breaks down how the Investor Forum operates on behalf of its members (representing roughly 25% of the FTSE All-Share) and details the distinction between the member-led Investor Forum and the broader, system-wide Investor and Issuer Forum.
