What Makes a Company Investable? An Analyst’s Perspective

In this episode of Enquire, Clara Melia speaks with Adam Tomlinson, Head of UK Consumer Research at Berenberg, about what really makes a company stand out to analysts and investors. Drawing on more than 20 years in the City, Adam offers a practical sell-side perspective on how companies can build credibility, communicate their investment case and compete for investor attention.

A central theme of the discussion is what constitutes a high-quality investment case in today’s market. Adam argues that companies need a strategy that can be explained simply, exposure to attractive underlying markets, a differentiated competitive position and a management team and board that investors can trust. Financial performance remains fundamental, but with fund managers covering increasingly broad universes, companies also need to make their story easy to understand and give investors a clear picture of what the business could look like in three to five years.
