“Investor relations at Equitory leverages my understanding of accounting and financials and has allowed me to see how this influences results, has given me exposure to financial markets, and is teaching me how to craft an ‘equity”story’ for a business”

What has your career been to date, and how have you become part of the Equitory team?

I started as an Associate at Equitory in April 2021. Before this, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte, where I worked on the audits of listed companies. I really wanted to work at Equitory as it’s the perfect place to start a career in investor relations; I am getting exposure to several companies across different sectors and the variety of IR services that we provide.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Equitory?

Working with various clients in different industries is really exciting, and, engaging with different companies’ teams means I am constantly learning new skills. It’s been a whirlwind first eight months, and no day is the same, but the team is both incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, so it’s been an amazing place to learn.

Have there been opportunities to develop and grow within the company?

Yes there has! Equitory has just launched Equip, a new training programme that offers Associates the opportunity to complete the IR Society’s Certificate in Investor Relations alongside seminars and workshops run by our team and our market wide contacts. I have taken part in two of the workshops already and have found them to be incredibly helpful alongside gaining experience working on my clients!

What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

All the usual…seeing friends, some running, cooking, and trying to keep up with book club.
